He always thought to ask..

For as long as I knew Chris, the first thing he would ask me, whenever we would speak is..' 'How are your kids doing?"...and he would always remember what we discussed about my kids, on our prior calls.

He had a real fondness for my oldest daughter and my son. They would visit us often ,when they were young, in our office at Smith Barney. Chis always showed real interst in their growing up and I think he took some joy in how proud I was of them.

Chis had a special bond with my son, based on a comical occurence. When we decided to do a Triathlon together, my family and Chris, all rented a Condo out at Montauk Pt , the night before the race. My son at that time, was young and a bit mischeviuos. It came to my attention after the race, as told to me by Chris, that he did not sleep at all before the race, because my son was shooting spit balls at him, throughout the whole night.

Yet I never heard Chris raise his voice at my son. That was Chris. Always happy and a real joy to be around.

I do know however, that Chris was so sleep deprived, that he forgot his sneakers as we packed and headed to the transition area at the race. A guy next to us, overheard Chis freaking out that he forgot his running shoes. The guy reaily offered Chris a pair of sneakers. Little did we know that the guy did not have an extra pair.!!

Comically, we both saw the same guy on the run portion of the race, heading toward the finish line and the guy was running barefoot. We could not stop laughing.

As always, because of his good looks , Chris drew the stares of many of the women in the race. And as it would have it, a female competitor, ran up to Chris, as he headed up the hill, toward the finish line.

She asked Chris, in stride, if he would run with her to the finish line, so she could have her  picture taken with him!!  He slowed down and they crossed the line together. Her friends were all there and they  took numerous photos!!

If only she knew, what a great guy she had  just finishe the race with.

I am terribly saddened to have lost a true, dear friend. He was a freind to my children, who both liked him immensely. He was one of the few people, who I considerd a kindred spirt.

I was jealous of his warm smile and his calm demeanor.

In my years of knowing him, not once, did I ever hear anyone, utter a negative word about him.

He was simply that special.

God Bless you Chis ...I will miss you terribly.
